"The opportunity afforded to this group of players in the inaugural ‘Horizons Programme’ has been beneficial with them playing at a level which allows them to develop their skills. The competitiveness of the majority of the games highlighted individual areas of improvement. The coaching staff were delighted with the players’ efforts culminating in a strong performance against a high quality Tunisian under 18s team. The challenge now for players and staff is to utilise the lessons learnt as a springboard to future progression."
Marc Steutel said:
"The professionalism of the host club set the standard for a fantastic learning opportunity for players and staff alike. All players developed through the duration of the tournament, partly due to the quality of opposition they were competing against. The games highlighted some clear strengths of the players and also identified areas of development which will hopefully inspire these players to work even harder before the next Horizons camp. All players can be very proud of their efforts in the 3rd/4th playoff, the closest game of the tournament against a quality Tunisia team. Overall this was a fantastic experience for this exciting group of players."
