Basketball England have agreed to a 2-year term partnership extension with Krossover Intelligence, as the national governing body of basketball in England continues its game-based technology expansion.
The new agreement will see both Basketball England and Krossover working in conjunction to provide game breakdowns, video sharing, and statistics, along with custom highlights for the Elite Academy Basketball League (EABL) during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. In addition, the expanded partnership will provide a game film exchange platform for National Basketball League Division 1 Men and the Academy Basketball League.
Krossover’s breakdowns include full game video indexed into searchable clips, the use of filters and telestration tools, individual game statistics, interactive shot charts, and tendency reports. Krossover’s cloud-based platform will be a teaching tool for the EABL, as they review game clips and data on any device and share content with their players. New for the 2016-17 season is the automated highlight platform to generate custom content for the EABL, as well as top plays of the week and player highlight reels to use on its official site (EABL.org), its marketing channels, and through its syndication partnership.
Basketball England’s Education and Satellite Clubs Manager, Charlie Ford said, “Krossover provides video breakdown and performance statistics that are an essential part of player development. This season will see automated highlights for every game in the EABL and WEABL, which will help to raise the profile of the AASE students and the league within the UK basketball community and wider. I am very pleased to continue our close working relationship with Krossover.
“Having been awarded the 'Outstanding Partner Innovation Award' earlier in the year by the Youth Sport Trust, we are building our reputation as being one of the leading sporting governing body for innovation and technological developments with our partnership with Krossover.
“Krossover has a long-standing reputation for supplying world class technology and over the past year we have had over 10,000 views on the EABL YouTube channel. We are excited to see how this will develop in the future.”
Krossover, who has serviced the global basketball community since 2008, will become the official Game Breakdown and Analytics partner to the EABL. The agreement will also see the research and development for both organisations working together to develop the leading technology in the sport across the UK.
Ken Hoffmann, Partnerships Manager from Krossover commented, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Basketball England. Our video breakdown solution will continue to be a powerful resource in the development of its coaches and athletes. Krossover is looking forward to providing UK players with a platform to expand their skill-set and showcase their talent to the world. Basketball England and Krossover share a passion for technology and its role in elevating the standard of play across all levels of competition. We are fully committed to the growth of basketball in the UK and beyond.”
