With only nine days to go until the 2017 Basketball Sports Medicine Conference (BSMC), the event has received a timely boost with the news that the British Association of Sport & Exercise Medicine (BASEM) is to be its official partner.
BASEM’s Business Manager Nicky Birkinshaw commented: “We are proud to sponsor the 2017 Basketball Sports Medicine Conference.
“As the largest multi-disciplinary sports medicine organisation in the UK, we believe it’s only right that we should show our backing and support for an event such as this one, which is entitled ‘Maximising Young Athletes’ Health’ this year.
“That over-arching title is very much in keeping with our entire ethos as an organisation as we are dedicated to the promotion of good health through physical activity and the provision of sports medicine expertise to optimise athletic performance.
“BASEM also aims to provide support and education to all healthcare professionals involved in the care of athletes and individuals undertaking – or aspiring to undertake – regular physical activity at all levels.”
Paul Fisher, the Head of Physiotherapy and Sports Science for Basketball England and GB Basketball, said: “It’s great to have BASEM on board for the 2017 Basketball Sports Medicine Conference, which is really shaping up to be the best and biggest one we’ve organised to date.
“With the world-class line-up of globally-renowned speakers set to talk about the very latest developments in the field, I’d urge everybody working in Sports Medicine across a range of sports to attend.”
The 2017 Basketball Sports Medicine Conference (BSMC) will be held at the City of London Academy – Southwark on Friday, April 28th between 8:30am and 4:30pm.
