British Basketball Announce Players Selected For GB National U16 Training Squads

The first GB Under 16 selection camps were held at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester, over the weekend of 24-25 June. Mirroring the previous weekend with the GB U18 camps, the U16s had an outstanding two days of training and team building. British Basketball is pleased to announce the list of players selected by the coaching staff for the GB National U16 Men’s and Women’s Training Squads, ahead of their FIBA European Championships 2017.

British Basketball Appointed Board Member (Performance), Mark Clark, commented “I was able to attend the GB U16 camp on Sunday and was pleased with the dedication of the athletes and the quality of the camp delivery by the coaching and support staff. A key message for both squads over the whole weekend was pride in their achievement of being part of the first ever GB U16 Men’s and Women’s squads. Now that the selections have been made, those players are within touching distance of representing Great Britain. That should be another source of pride and motivation to them. It was reassuring to see British Basketball, Basketball England and the NBPC working well together to stage the camps. Thanks for your efforts. Good luck to both squads for the upcoming camps, tournaments and FIBA European Championships.”
