The fourth annual Basketball Sports Medicine Conference (BSMC) will take place tomorrow (Friday, April 28th) at the City of London Academy (CoLA) in Southwark, London.
The BSMC has grown in popularity since the inaugural edition back in 2014 and this year’s event, which is entitled: ‘Maximising Youth Athletes’ Health and Physical Development,’ has gained the support of high-profile institutions such as FIBA Europe and the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (BASEM).
As well as people from across the United Kingdom, the conference has attracted a number of overseas delegates and a record turnout is expected to be in attendance in south-east London.
Paul Fisher, the Head of Sports Science and Medicine for the British Basketball Federation and Basketball England, said: "This year’s line-up really is outstanding and we are very fortunate to have the likes of Tim Gabbett, a world-leading speaker in training load, as well as Ben Rosenblatt, who is widely considered one of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the country, there on the day. This conference re-enforces our strong desire to continue to improve sports science and medicine in basketball."
Charlie Ford, the Education and Satellite Clubs Manager at Basketball England, has been working extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure the conference is a resounding success.
