England Under 15 Teams Announced for Myerscough Camp & Copenhagen 2018

After two successful one day camps in April and May both England Under 15 squads will gather at Myerscough College between the 8 - 10 June before heading off to Denmark to compete at this year’s Copenhagen Invitational Tournament.

The teams will spend the weekend at Myerscough College being put through their paces and highlighting their skills to the coaching staff who will then select a roster of 12 players. The teams will travel to Copenhagen on Thursday 14 June and return on Sunday 17 June.

Under 15 Girl’s Head Coach, Cristina Stanciuca, commented on the girl’s programme. “The initial phase of the programme has now come to a close and the results of the integration of the Regional Performance Centres (RPC) and National Team Programme have been very beneficial. I would like to thank all of the RPC coaches for their support and contribution to this years programme. I am pleased with the level of talent we have in the squad and I am excited for the preparation camp as we work towards the Copenhagen Invitational Tournament with our final 12 players.”

The girls will come up against the likes of Csata DSE, Sweden and Iceland.

The England Under 15 Boys will be looking to better their third place in 2017 and find themselves in a pool that includes TopSchoolSport from Belgium, Kenya and host country Denmark.

Under 15 Boy’s Head Coach, Manuel Pena Garces talks ahead of the competition. “We are really excited with the progression we have made with the squad and look forward to testing ourselves in an International Tournament. We have developed considerably in the camps from all angles and I have high expectations for the camp at Myerscough and then our time in Copenhagen. The teamwork has been magnificent, and we are preparing in detail to enable us to be ready in June. I want to thank all players, parents, staff and Basketball England for the commitment and support."

Basketball England Board Member, Steve Bucknall said “Congratulations to all the boys and girls who have been chosen to represent their country.
