England Under-15s in Spain for games

England Under-15 Girls have headed to Spain for international competition.

Led by head coach Rikki Broadmore, the squad will take part in the tournament in the Spanish town of Medina del Campo on December 28 and 29, playing against Spanish regional squads Asturias and Castilla Y Leon and the Portugal national team.

It will the squad’s first taste of basketball overseas and the competition will serve as invaluable experience for when they compete in Europe in the future.

There are also plans for a reverse tournament with teams coming to the UK.

Performance and Technical Manager Steve Bucknall said: “This is a great opportunity for our England Under-15 Girls to play against international competition.

“These opportunities we are providing will support this cohort transition into GB basketball competition in the future.

“We wish them a good campaign over the festive period.”
