After continuing discussions with the BBC and Team England, we’ve explored all possibilities to make sure as much basketball as possible is shown from the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
At present, the BBC do not have the rights to stream all events at this year’s Games in full and instead have committed to delivering two live broadcast channels and a limited number of pop up live channels throughout the competition. The content provided on these channels will be dictated by performances in the various sports across the home nations and will be reactive from day to day.
At the moment, there is a commitment to show the Semi-Finals and Finals of the basketball live should a home nation be competing.
The best place to follow what sport will be shown live across the BBC’s channels is the following page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live-guide
That page is updated daily, usually around mid-afternoon UK time to reflect the following day’s coverage. If we are aware that a game will be receiving coverage, we will advertise it as soon as possible. We will also provide live stats links where available and again will advertise these on our social media channels.
Regardless of what coverage is offered by the BBC, we’ll have live commentary, updates and content on our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts throughout the tournament.
