Rebecca Cardenas inspired the home side to an 11-point first-half lead, as she contributed all of her 16 points before the break, with the Lions looking like they were beginning to run out of ideas.
However, Lions guard Kennedy Leonard came back out onto the court in red-hot form as she took control and dropped some key buckets on the way to a total of 22 points.
The visitors, who were missing the likes of Holly Winterburn and Shanice Beckford-Norton, were dominant in the paint as they scored 44 of their 67 from close-range, while they also managed ten more rebounds then their opponents.
Azania Stewart (14) and Stephanie Umeh (12) also reached double-figures for points to help the Lions retain their 100% record, but it was anything but straight-forward in the second half as Georgia Gayle (20) provided some much-needed fire-power for the Hatters – but it wasn’t enough to stop the visits in their tracks and the points will be taken back down the M1 to the capital.
