There are entry-level courses to give you the skills and knowledge you need to start on your coaching career, right through to qualifications for the highest level.
The basic level if you’re starting out in basketball coaching. It’s great if you already have a club coach and you’re planning to work alongside them in a school or coaching environment. This qualification enables you to assist other coaches in delivering sessions.
This is the standard level of coaching qualification for all club coaches at local level. The award gives a general overview of all aspects of basketball, and a basic introduction to sports coaching.
This qualification is designed to prepare aspiring coaches for employment as a basketball coach in paid or voluntary roles, potentially within the elite game. This qualification is awarded by Basketball England and 1st4Sport qualifications. The qualification is supported by the NSG for Basketball comprised of the National Governing Bodies (Basketball England, Basketball Wales and Basketball Scotland) as the trade association and employers for basketball.
Our Activators, Level 1 Coach and Level 2 Coach courses are available to be utilised by schools, colleges, universities and academies, providing face-to-face delivery is already taking place. These courses can take place with students from within the same educational setting only due to COVID-19 restrictions.
