Bishop and Tjongondjoza chosen for inaugural Basketball Without Borders Next Up Camp

Basketball Without Borders Next Up is an elite basketball skills camp for 80 of the world’s top male, high-school-age prospects, with both being selected for their outstanding skills and leadership abilities.

Currently, they are developing their trade stateside, with 6’10” forward Bishop at AZ Compass Prep in Arizona and 6’8” guard Tjongondjoza on the other side of the country at Brewster Academy Basketball in New Hampshire.

Prior to relocating the to the states, Bishop started his basketball journey at York Eagles under the tutelage of Darren Taylor before playing for EABL outfit Charnwood Riders, and Tjongondjoza is a product of Worthing Thunder, learning his game from National Basketball League standouts Zaire Taylor and Ishmael Fontaine.

The big men have also benefitted from BE’s England Talent Pathway, with junior national team representation at various international tournaments at U14/15 age groups and both have been selected to represent GB at U16 and U18 level.

For GB at the 2025 U16 EuroBasket in Skopje, North Macedonia, Bishop recorded a standout 17.7PPG (fourth best in the entire competition) and 9.7RPG stat line, with teammate Tjongondjoza following with 14.7 and 6.

Tjongondjoza said:

"I'm thankful for the opportunity to represent Great Britain at BWB Level Up in Istanbul and to learn from some great coaches and compete alongside other talented young players from across the world. I’m looking forward to using the experience to develop my skills, challenge myself and keep growing as a player."

Basketball Without Borders Next Up 2026 will be a unique opportunity for each player to improve his basketball talents, be coached by FIBA/NBA players and coaches, and get to know other basketball players from across the globe. 

They will receive guidance from the links of Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson, NBA legend and former Yugoslavia Men’s National Team member Vlade Divac, former NBA and Italian Men’s National Team player Danilo Gallinari, 2021 NBA champion Brook Lopez (LA Clippers), 2021 NBA champion and three-time NBA All-Star Khris Middleton (Washington Wizards) and 2023/24 Kia NBA All-Defensive Second Team member Jalen Suggs (Orlando Magic).

Over the course of the camp players will be lead in basketball skill development, strength and conditioning, life skills sessions, plus games and competitions.

The Men’s BWB Next Up 2026 will be supported by Nike, a global partner of BWB since 2002, which will outfit participants with Nike apparel and footwear.
