Crest Academy and Newcastle College Eagles victorious at Collegiate 3x3 Tournament

And Newcastle Eagles came out on top in a mini three-team women's category, going unbeaten in two round robin contests.

Almost 50 teams and more than 200 players converged on the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester for the event and a day of action across six courts.

London's Crest won the men's event beating Merseyside's Carmel College by 12-10 in a South-v-North final, with both teams earning the right to progress to the Academy 3x3 Tournament in Nottingham next month, where they will test themselves against elite EABL teams.

Crest had edged past Guilford in the semis while Carmel bettered The Sheffield College 15-12.

In the women's section, Newcastle won all their games as they faced SGS and Bedford Academy.
