Standout performances
Manchester Magic came through a nail-biter as UTC Sheffield missed not one but two late lay-up attempts to fall to an agonising 80-79 defeat.
NCC are on the board with a first EABL win after they beat Canterbury 80-66, with Xaverian also doing the same as they beat Newcastle 66-56, and former winners Barking made it two-from-two in the South, knocking off former finalists CoLA 61-54 to send their fellow Londoners to an 0-2 start.
SGS College (79-65 vs Copleston) and BMet City of Birmingham Rockets (79-69 vs HHS) both picked up valuable Central Conference results, and defending champs Myerscough had no problem seeing off newcomers Nottingham Academy Wildcats with a 112-52 final score.
In the WEABL, it was double delight for Barking as they beat reigning champs CoLA 73-42 as Canterbury celebrated a maiden success as they beat NCC 69-50.
A late 6-3 run helped Nottingham narrowly edge Manchester Mystics, coming through as 66-63 winners behind a strong showing from Ophelia Larder-Lee, and HHS Reading Rockets had no problems with BMet City of Birmingham Rockets, handing them a 90-53 defeat.
The day's only other game saw Xaverian beat Newcastle College in a tight one, winning 70-65.
What does it mean for the standings?
Xaverian, Myerscough and Manchester Magic have all started brightly in the EABL North, with four sides (BMet, SGS, Reading and Derby) all looking to make a move at the top of the Central.
Top of both South Conferences are Barking Abbey, with the boys and the girls sat at 2-0 ahead of the chasing pack.
Nottingham are ahead in the WEABL North at 2-0, whilst the WEABL Central hasn't seen much action so far.
Player-of-the-week candidates

Kurmani Patel Blake (20pts, 3ast) led the way for BMet despite a 13/13 double-double from HHS' Finn Aumonier, Lucas Williams top scored for NCC with 21 points against Canterbury, and UTC's Asher Sibanda (23pts, 6reb, 4ast) and Manchester's Abraham Sagay Isiorho (12pts, 12reb) went toe-to-toe in the EABL North's one-point game.

In the South's big game, Sytira Smith (20pts, 7reb, 3stl) was the standout for Barking as team mate Sharliyah Sutherland added 16 points of her own, cancelling out a good outing from CoLA's Demi Lamuye (14pts, 9reb, 2ast).
