The Cavs' narrow win over London All Stars plus Manchester's surprise loss to Loughborough gives the current leaders more breathing room at the top, though the race for the remaining playoff spots is far from over.

Standout performances

A 20-10 final quarter helped Loughborough erase what had been a 15-point deficit against Manchester, eventually roaring home as 67-64 winners.

Erin Caldwell and Louisa Gibbins both starred to help boost the Riders' survival chances, denting Manchester's title hopes in the process.

Brent Bulls and London All Stars came close to grabbing upset wins as well, though both would ultimately fall short.

The Bulls looked on course to knock off CoLA, but a 23-8 third frame cancelled out a positive first half, leading to a 63-57 final score.

The All Stars went toe-to-toe with London Cavaliers, giving as good as they got in a see-saw contest before the title favourites eventually sealed the deal late, winning 72-68.

Anglia Ruskin boosted their top-four hopes with a pair of victories, beating Worcester 86-77 and Bristol 100-56, and Ipswich deepened Bromsgrove's relegation concerns with a 103-35 defeat on Saturday afternoon.

What does it mean for the standings? 

London Cavaliers now sit two losses ahead of CoLA and Manchester, providing a decent cushion for the side's last six games.

The battle for the rest of the top-four spots is on, with ARU, CoLA, Manchester and Ipswich all eyeing up a home tie in the opening round of the playoffs.

Loughborough's win provides the Riders with hope as they move level with London All Stars on six points, pushing Bromsgrove bottom of the pile in the process.

Player-of-the-week candidates 

It was a good weekend for Anglia Ruskin, with Abby Conlee (23pts vs WOR, 20pts, 7reb vs BRI) and Tia Freeman (22pts, 6reb, 5ast, 5stl vs WOR and 14pts, 5ast vs BRI) both playing well across their two games, though Worcester's Ciani Montgomery (27pts, 9reb, 4ast) was a standout for the Wolves in defeat.

Kat Goldsby (17pts, 9reb, 9ast, 3stl) was just short of a triple-double for London All Stars, but it wouldn't be enough against Chinwe Iwunze (21pts, 9reb) and the London Cavaliers.

Louisa Gibbins (16pts, 9reb, 6ast) and Erin Caldwell (16pts, 6reb, 3ast) both starred in Loughborough's win against Manchester, as Success Odemwingie's 11-point, 10-rebound double-double would be in vain.

Chandera Jones-Aryeh (17pts, 6reb), Debra Wilson-Osuide (15pts, 6reb, 6stl) and Adaora Dioramma (13pts, 10reb) helped CoLA avoid an upset at Brent as Ellie Bishop (13pts, 5reb) splashed four triples for the hosts.
