WNBL Division One Preview - Week 6 (2/3 November 2019)

Four games this Saturday in the WNBL, with just one team remaining unbeaten heading into week six.

Game of the Week

 Team Solent Kestrels (4-0) v Thames Valley Cavaliers (2-3)

 Team Solent Kestrels, like their counterparts in NBL Division One, remain the only unbeaten side in the competition and head into the game at the top of the WNBL table.

In week five, Team Solent Kestrels were on the right end of a close 71-69 scoreline against Ipswich Basketball, as the table toppers clinched victory in the closing minutes of the last quarter, with Jodie Jerram and Kristin Karpova scoring 34 points between them.

Thames Valley Cavaliers also head into the fixture in high hopes following an impressive 76-56 victory over Loughborough Riders at Uxbridge College. Diana Voynova one to look out for, after registering 15 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and one block in that win.

Elsewhere in WNBL

Current Player of the Week Madeline Homoly travels to Bristol Academy Flyers (2-1) with her side Anglia Ruskin University (4-1) on the back of an impressive victory. In week five, the American forward helped her side to victory against Nottingham Trent University with 38 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and two blocks for a 92-77 victory. Bristol Academy Flyers head into the fixture in fifth-place, with a record of 2-1.

BA London Lions II (0-3) return to action as they travel to Reading Rockets (2-2).

London Lions last fell short to Loughborough Riders 94-65 at Barking Abbey School Leisure Centre, whilst the Rockets also suffered a close 60-58 defeat to Bristol in week four.

Elsewhere, third-placed Ipswich host ninth-placed Nottingham Trent University, who still search for their first win of the season following defeats to Anglia Ruskin University, Southwark Pride and Reading Rockets.
