Jr. NBA launch virtual resource for UK coaches via app

The NBA have announced the launch of the Jr. NBA Coaches – Online Presented by Gatorade, a virtual resource and content platform offering drills, instructional videos and clinics to basketball coaches.

The program is hosted on the OWQLO App, the official Jr. NBA League app in Europe and the Middle East.

Registrations are now being accepted to the Jr. NBA Coaches – Online Presented by Gatorade programme, aimed at educating and supporting Jr. NBA league and basketball coaches in France, Italy and the UK.

The unique program, open to all registered users over 16 years old, will feature a variety of content offerings highlighted by live coaching clinics starting on Aug. 16 and 30 and Sept. 13 and 27, hosted by current and former NBA coaches, including Atlanta Hawks Head Coach Lloyd Pierce, Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach and Jr. NBA Council member Bryan Gates and former Sacramento Kings assistant coach Igor Kokoškov.

The clinics will also include a Q&A section, allowing participants to interact with and learn directly from the guest coach.  Presenting partner Gatorade will further support the program through a dedicated hydration and sports nutrition section.

Available from August. 31, users will also have access to weekly Jr. NBA Top Tips, a host of training videos including all previous NBA global coaching clinic videos and a “Coaches Office” containing useful tools and resources.

In addition, fitness and performance coaches Natalie Higby and Cristian Plascencia of The Durable Athlete will instruct on multiple pillars promoting skill development and physical activity, including warm-ups and cool downs, workouts and sleep optimisation.
