Group 1

Team Solent Kestrels took control of Group 1 with a pair of wins in as many days.

Saturday night saw the reigning D1M champs knock off local rivals Worthing 91-78 thanks in part to a 23-point, six-assist, five-rebound performance off the bench by Luke Busumbru.

The Kestrels followed that effort up 24 hours with an impressive 110-61 home win against Essex Rebels. New point guard Cole Gentry gave Solent fans a potential sign of things to come as he finished with a game-high 26 points.

In Sunday's other contest, Worthing bounced back to winning ways as 22 points (including 6/8 3pt) from Tom Ward helped Thunder past London Lions II 90-70.

Group 2

There was no sign of home advantage in Group 2 as both road teams grabbed wins.

The new-look Oaklands Wolves were a long way off the pace as Reading Rockets recorded a thumping 99-47 victory.

Elsewhere, Thames Valley managed to get past Hemel 82-74, using a 28-10 third quarter to set up the win. TVC's Hakeem Sylla (22pts. 10/11FG, 11reb), and Hemel's Greg Poleon (27pts, 10reb) both recorded a double-double to get their respective campaigns underway.

Group 3

It was a contrasting weekend for Leicester Warriors, who split their two games.

Saturday saw the Midlands' side beat D2 North outfit Charnwood Riders 78-70, with former Nottingham Hoods' man Delaney Powell top-scoring for the visitors with 15 points.

That form wasn't repeatable on Sunday though as the Warriors were on the wrong end of a 113-67 score line at the hands of neighbours Nottingham.

Powell dropped an impressive 33 points against his former side, but the hosts were no match for the Hoods as Victor Olarerin led the way on 22 points.

The North East side were led by 28 points from Ronald Blain, whilst the Trailblazers were boosted by 24 points from captain Malcolm Smith and a 22 point, 12 rebound double-double from new signing Sol Rolls-Tyson.
