Talent: U16s ready for National Showcase

The final list of invited players has now been confirmed ahead of this week’s U16 National Showcase.

Taking place at Manchester’s National Basketball Performance Centre between Wednesday 11 and Friday 13 August, the camp will bring together over 50 players from across the country.

Selection for the Showcase follows a number of regional and super regional events across the country, including recent 3x3 events.

England in action at the 2019 tri-nations tournament

Basketball England’s Head of Talent & Performance Steve Bucknall said:

"We're delighted to get this group of players back to Manchester and continuing the work on their development across what should be a very productive three days.

"My thanks go out to the regions and our four RTM's for organising the activity that unpinned the selection for this camp, and to the players who took part across the various events.

"I'd also like to extend my appreciated to the coaches that will be assisting in Manchester, including Chris, Paul and Bob for their specialist sessions."

Across the three-day camp, players will take part in a number of on court sessions designed at further developing their abilities, working both individually as well as small-sided teams.

Chris Hallam will continue his recent series of workshops on mental wellbeing, whilst Paul Douglas has been enlisted to conduct a skill development session and well-known coach Bob Martin will provide a shooting clinic.

The Showcase will close on Friday afternoon with a 3x3 tournament between the players in attendance.
