#BasketballStandsTogether: How NBL clubs can unite in show of solidarity for Ukraine

Basketball England supports clubs of the National Basketball League and affiliated local leagues standing together this weekend in solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

The thoughts of the British basketball community are with those who have been impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Alongside the British Basketball League (BBL), Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL) and their clubs, BE unequivocally rejects Russia's actions and wishes to show support for the people of Ukraine.

As such, all NBL teams and local leagues will be given the option of taking part in 24 seconds of reflection and a show of solidarity before tip-off at each game this weekend (5/6 March).

Clubs can also display the blue and yellow colours of the Ukraine flag, use the hashtag #BasketballStandsTogether and encourage fans to donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. The UK Government will match donations from the public pound-for-pound up to £20million.

Logos and profiles on BE social media platforms will show the colours of the Ukraine flag as a message of solidarity.
