Team USA heading to London for games against South Sudan and Germany

Team USA is heading to London for the first time since winning the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. 

USA Basketball announced the national team will play a pair of games against South Sudan and Germany in London as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase in preparation for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games. 

The US will face South Sudan on July 20 and reigning FIBA World Cup champions Germanyon July 22 at London’s O2 Arena. Both are also qualifiers for Paris 2024.

“USA Basketball is looking forward to the excitement of an Olympic year and the opportunity to take the USA Basketball Showcase to London,” said Jim Tooley, CEO, USA Basketball. “Facing South Sudan and Germany will provide optimal training opportunities as we prepare to defend our gold medal in Paris and we are thrilled to host them next summer.”

Tickets for both contests, which will tip off at 8 pm will go on sale at 1 pm on Friday, 15 December.
