WNBL1 preview: 13/14 January - live streams, stats and more

As January progresses, teams are heading into the second half of their fixtures lists for 2023/24.

That means plenty of sides will be seeing each other for the second time across the coming weeks, with some looking for revenge for earlier losses whilst others will be looking to complete a sweep.

An impressive six D1W games fill the coming weekend, with five games tomorrow before Brent and City of Birmingham complete their home and away double header on Sunday.

We take a look at all of the action below, with links to live stats and live streams at the bottom of the page.

Endeavour Ipswich Basketball (11-1) vs Thames Valley Cavaliers (7-4)

WNBL fans will be able to get an early taste of this year's National Cup Final as the two finalists go head-to-head in league play tomorrow.

Both teams have a chance to stake a claim for some early momentum this weekend as the Cavs head to Suffolk in a bid to keep their title challenge alive.

A narrow 80-76 home loss last week against Loughborough further increase the gap between TVC and top spot, allowing the Riders to leapfrog them into second spot in the process.

Ipswich have had no such issues, tearing across their schedule with great success barring a single OT road loss to former champs CoLA.

Last time out Ipswich completed the season sweep of bottom side Team Solent Kestrels and they'll be looking to do the same to TVC here after beating them 92-71 in Uxbridge last October.

Ipswich's MVP candidate Harriet Welham had an 18-point, 16-rebound, 11-assist triple-double in that match-up and has continued that kind of form in the intervening months.

Leading the league in efficiency and points per game (25.5), she's also in the top three for rebounds (11.2) and will take some stopping once again this weekend.

Thames Valley's Helene Trailin will look to keep the kind of form going that saw her put together an impressive 26 point, 22 rebound, 45 efficiency performance last time out.

Elsewhere this weekend

With plenty of exciting ties planned across the country, there's no shortage of quality action this weekend.

There's a cross-London derby to look forward to as Barking Abbey (4-6) entertain CoLA Southwark Pride (7-3), whilst two midtable outfits go head-to-head in the South West as Manchester Mystics (6-6) travel to Bristol Academy Flyers (5-7).

Anglia Ruskin University (5-8) can continue their push to establish a playoff spot as they welcome Team Solent Kestrels (1-9), who haven't picked up a win since their lone success of the campaign back in early December.

The weekend is capped off by a home and away double-header between Brent Bulls (5-3) and City of Birmingham Rockets (2-9).

The teams will lock horns in the West Midlands on Saturday evening before heading to London on Sunday to complete the weekend.
