Action, overtime and trophies at West Yorkshire playoffs

The West Yorkshire league caters for over fifty teams, comprising of 450+ players across five men's divisions and one women's. 

Following the semi-finals held at the University of York and Bradford College, the culmination of a tough league season came down to one playoff weekend - and there was plenty of silverware and promotions for teams to celebrate across six finals.

In the LDBL the playoff and league champions are promoted, unless they are the same team then the league runner-up earns promotion. 

Notable games in the men's competition included Leeds Lion Rock 2 in Division 4, winning the playoffs and promotion to D3 after finishing third in the league.

In Division 2, the Lithuanian Legends came down from 15 points in the final frame to tie the game against the Calderdale Hawks and win in overtime and take the league and playoff double.

In the Open Premiership, seventh seed Leeds Lithuanians 1 surprised the league winners Leeds Demons 1 in their playoff match-up by hitting two clutch free throws at the end of Q4 to force overtime and then take the title by 1-point.

In the women's bout, Trinity Tigers saw off Sheffield Arrows to double their haul of silverware.
