Best of British - London 3x3 GBR flying the flag on World Tour stage

Originally competing as Princeton (USA), the team franchise was acquired by veteran British baller Ashley and wife Alice Hamilton ahead of the 2025 World Tour season to pioneer the growth of 3x3 basketball and professional basketball opportunities in the UK.  

The original arrangement allowed London 3x3 USA – as the team was rebranded following the transition from Princeton – to bypass the traditional progression through FIBA 3x3 Quest and Challenger events and move directly onto the World Tour stage.  

In its inaugural campaign the outfit won the Deqing stop on the World Tour.

Now the team has finalised its transition to full British ownership, it will compete as London 3x3 GBR and according to a statement on London3x3.com will allow six British players to make up the roster. 

“For the first time, Great Britain has official representation at the highest level of the professional 3x3 circuit, a position strengthened not only by ambition but by an already rich and proven team history, and numerous successes on the international stage,” said Co-founder of London 3x3 Alice Hamilton. 

“Under FIBA regulations, this reclassification allows six British players to make up the roster. The implications are substantial. Sixty percent of the top 20 ranked federations’ points are generated through the professional circuit, driven by the performances of domestically based teams.  

“With points earned now contributing toward qualification for the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, this transition provides Great Britain with a significant boost in its Olympic pathway.” 

GB’s Ashley Hamilton, who transferred from being a professional 5v5 player to 3x3, has also thrown his hat in the ring for Team England selection for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
