Bev Guymon Memorial Tournament back for 2026
The Bev Guymon Memorial Tournament is accepting expressions of interest for this year's event.
Established in 2022, the tournament remembers the life and impact of Bev Guymon and this year will include U10 Mixed, U12 Boys and U14 Boys and Girls competitions across the 27 and 28 July 2026.
Held at the Solent Sports Complex, the event aims to raise money for the Bev Guymon Memorial Fund as well as continuing the legacy of a woman who did so much to raise the profile of junior basketball on the South coast and beyond.

Speaking about the event, Solent Kestrels' Director of Coaching Matt Guymon said:
"My mum was incredibly passionate about the growth of the game and creating opportunities for young players.
"This tournament promises two action-packed days of basketball, with 32 teams competing across four events.
"All proceeds go towards the Bev Guymon Memorial Fund, which exists to support individuals and help remove financial barriers, ensuring more people have the opportunity to be involved in the game."
Along with her husband, Jimmie, Bev Guymon set up the Solent Kestrels basketball programme in 1998 to provide an outlet for young people and to develop sporting excellence in the Southampton area.
Bev passed away on the 24th May 2016 at the all too young age of 55 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
During her time with the club she helped countless young people achieve their dreams of playing basketball.
