CBL: 2025/26 Regular Season Award Winners Announced

MVP, All-Conference Teams, U17 Player of the Year and Coach of the Year have all been awarded, giving players and coaches worthy recognition for strong campaigns.

Congratulations to all those chosen and don’t forget you can still attend this week's CBL playoff final between Xaverian College and MK5D Shenley Brook End School at Essex Sports Arena.

Group A

Stepping up from his U17 Player of the Year award a year ago, The Sheffield College's Joao "TJ" Prado is Group A's MVP. An 11-3 campaign was good for second in the regular-season, narrowly pipped by winners Xavierian College, but voters were impressed by Prado's output.

Group winners Xavierian still collected three spots in the All-Conference side, with Dominic Goodwin, Jayden Evora Gomes and Kelvin Clement all featuring, and the last place taken by Newcastle's George Merrifield.

Paul Cantwell makes it back-to-back Group A Coach of the Year awards for his job leading Xaverian College, with their near spotless 13-1 record and the three All-Conference picks both highlighting his continued work with the Manchester programme.

Awarded to the best Year 12 players in the league, the U17 POTY award goes to Xavierian's Erminas Pelenis.

Another tick for the development prowess of COTY Cantwell, Pelenis has impressed teams and coaches alike as he's made an instant impact despite his young age.

Group B

After helping MK5D Shenley Brook End School to a Group B win, it's no surprise to see Kalvin Oates collecting MVP honours.

Oates makes the All-Conference side for his efforts, alongside last season's U17 Player of the Year Ben Morris, plus the impressive Gabriel Formeloza.

New City College's Axel Thibault also gets recognition, with Harris City Academy Crystal Palace's Sion Eynon completing this year's side.

NCC's Andre Lockhart nearly made it back-to-back Coach of the Year wins, but he was narrowly pipped by MK5D's Adam Digby by a single vote.

Digby helped his side to a regular-season title, developing the likes of Oates, Morris, Formeloza and Osi Mamudu, plus U17 prospect Christian Egbaran.

U17 honours went to St. Thomas the Apostle College forward Elijah Imevbore.

After featuring for GB's U16s last summer, Imevbore took that quality into this season's CBL, converting it into a successful campaign as he goes from strength-to-strength.

Group C

As a near-unanimous choice by this year's voters, HTS's Jamaul McAllister is Group C's MVP.

Another that has stepped up from top U17 honours in 2024/25, McAllister helped lift Storm to a 13-1 record, securing the top spot in the process.

Daniel Hildreth continues his grip on the group's Coach of the Year award, taking it for another year after successes in 2024/25 and 2023/24.

McAllister's development was clearly key in the voters' minds on that front, as was HTS' outstanding regular-season record.

HTS' Owen Ono joins McAllister in the All-Conference lineup, with a pair of Cardiff and Vale College standouts, Luca Basini-James and Onanefe Atefu also making the cut.

The last place is snagged by The Crest Academy's Ismail Ahmed, who completes this year's line up.

The final award, U17 Player of the Year, once again heads to HTS. This year's recipient is Josh Davidson, following in the foot steps of McAllister in 2024/25 and Sean Mackey in 2023/24, as Storm once again show why they're a programme that's so well renowned for player development.
