North Region Coaching Clinic set for end of May

Aiming to share information on talent development and coaching delivery, the clinic will provide an invaluable opportunity for coaches across the region.

Merging three key delivery dates into a single event, the schedule will include a slot for DiSE Coaching with selected Super Region talent, with the afternoon and evening dedicated to the new GB Exposure Day for coaches to observe national talent performance.

The DiSE portion of proceedings will be supported by coaches from both Manchester Magic and Mystics, as well as Myerscough College.

This development opportunity opens the door to coaches in the North to observe and collaborate with the talent identification process.

Proposed schedule: 

Arrival & Introduction

• Craven Park Suite (next to National Basketball Performance Centre)

Talent Presentation

• Darren Taylor (BE's North RTM) and Sam Messam (BE's National Pathway Manager) - Player Development Framework - Next Year's Talent Cycle 

DiSE Delivery Observations

• Super Region Camp at NBPC (morning session) 

Discussion Workshop

• Craven Park Suite- DiSE Academy Coaches: What we are looking for in a DiSE athlete (morning session)

GB Exposure Camp

• Observation of GB-potential players (afternoon session)

Discussion Workshop

• Craven Park Suite – GB talent observation feedback (afternoon session)

Taylor said: "The aim of the Coaching Clinic is to bring us all closer together so that coaches across the North can align and assist with talent development.

"An open-door day will help us strengthen talent nominations and player development, both pre-season and in-season, ensuring our most talented players are supported in line with the Player Development Framework.

"I’m also keen to connect with more coaches to get them involved in the Talent Aspire Programme and assist our camps, with a strong call out to female coaches to step forward."
