Dynamik National Schools Finals 2026: Winners, recaps, reaction & gallery

Crowning champions in the Premier Under-14 and Under-16 Co-Ed (mixed male and female), Under-17 boys and girls and Under-19 men and women competitions, there was plenty on offer in the first set of this year's finals.

A second finals event is scheduled for May to wrap up the remainder of this year's age categories.

Under-14 Co-ed Premier: St Thomas the Apostle College 66-104 Christ's School

St Thomas the Apostle College couldn't defend their U14 crown as they were beaten by an impressive Christ's School 104-66.

Christ's School raced out of the blocks with a 35-19 opening frame, leading from almost tip to buzzer as their lead gradually grew through the contest.

Plenty of players stood out in the win, with the victors shooting 47% in the contest, but MVP honours would go to Oliver Sherman after an outstanding 43-point, 16-rebound double-double that resulted in a massive 54 efficiency rating.

Danny Oliver (26pts, 7reb) and Zion Corriea (13pts, 8reb, 3ast) both played well in support, with Favour Osota (14pts, 21reb, 4blk) leading the way for STAC in reply.

Under-16 Co-Ed Premier: Turing House School 69-77 Dagenham Park School

The U16 Co-Ed Premier Final provided plenty of excitement, with Dagenham Park School staging a strong comeback to win 77-69.

Turing House School led at the half-way stage after a bright start, up 38-33 and looking good value for the lead after playing some confident basketball.

That script would change after the break, with the Londoners taking the third frame 15-7, and the second half 44-31 overall, to run away to the title.

Standout forward Chidera Asiegbu (16pts, 20reb) took the game's MVP award, collecting a sizable double-double to keep his side on track when the score closed up.

Guard Matas Natkevicius top scored, netting 26 points that included 5/9 from long range, and Joshua Nwankwo (15pts, 11reb, 5stl) also picked up a double-double.

Freddie King-Smith (16pts, 6reb) top scoring in defeat for Turing House.

Under-17 Boys: Xaverian College 81-71 City of London Academy - Southwark

Xavierian College clinched the U17 Boys final with a 81-71 victory over City of London Academy - Southwark, ending their season in style.

Charnwood saw off the Londoners in last year's Final, and lightning would unfortunately strike twice for CoLA as they were once again second best in the competition's showpiece.

Despite leading for all of the first 30 minutes, Xavierian couldn't pull away, and with 8:26 remaining, CoLA would tie the game up at 59-59 to breathe new life into the contest.

The Manchester programme wouldn't be denied though, immediately going on a 16-2 run to put the game to bed, ending CoLA's hopes in the process.

MVP honours went to Xaverian's Brice Tiako, who posted a 26-point, 18-rebound double-double alongside four assists and six steals, pushing his team to glory in the process.

Erminas Pelenis (21pts, 20reb) was also on double-double duty for Xavierian, with Sharmake Shirwac (22pts, 11reb) providing the main point of resistance for CoLA.

Under-17 Girls: The Sheffield College 77-89 Xaverian College

Xaverian College did the double for the day, collecting the U17 Girls title as they beat The Sheffield College 89-77.

Xaverian jumped out to an early 31-18 lead after a promising first quarter, but their South Yorkshire opponents wouldn't go quietly, instead battling back to reduce their deficit to around the ten-point mark.

The eventual champs would break the game open midway through the third, going on a 10-0 run that would put Sheffield in a hole they couldn't recover from.

Jess Jenkins (30pts, 7reb, 5ast, 2stl) was a worthy MVP choice, leading her side in scoring ahead of Sally Robinson (20pts, 4reb, 7stl) and Izzy Alcroft (18pts, 5reb, 4ast, 4stl) with Azeezat Adebayo (14pts, 12reb) picking up her side's only double-double.

Katie Hancock (21pts, 17reb) played well for Sheffield but couldn't swing the tie in her side's favour, with Ameila Copley top scoring on 26 points.

Under-19 Men: Myerscough College 60-73 Hartlands High School

HHS had their revenge for last season's U19 Men's Final, beating defending champions Myerscough College 73-60.

Then named John Madejski Academy, the Berkshire programme lost in the final a year ago but wouldn't be denied a second time, fending off a second half Myerscough charge to get the game over the line.

Looking comfortable in the first half with a lead that touched 18 points, HHS were made to sweat as their advantage shrunk to just a single point early in the fourth.

One of the reasons HHS managed to regroup and pull away for good was the play of MVP Joshua Johnson, who scored eight of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, adding six boards and a pair of dimes to his afternoon's work.

Johnson's battle with Myerscough's Daniel Oliadipo (19pts, 17reb) was a good one, but it was HHS who would leave Essex the happier come the final buzzer.

Under-19 Women: St Peter's Collegiate Academy 58-38 Sedgehill Academy

St Peter's Collegiate Academy made up for last season's U19 Women's Final disappointment with a 2025/26 title, comfortably beating Sedgehill Academy 58-38.

Holding their opponents to single digits in three of the game's four quarters, including just four points in the second, St Peter's were able to stretch their lead as the game wore on before managing it to a successful finish.

A 16-8 Sedgehill fourth narrowed the final score, but the Wolverhampton programme were deserving winners after a polished performance.

Ella Otisi earned the MVP crown, dropping a game-high 18 points to go with three rebounds and four steals. Faith Omorowa (12pts, 8reb) also made it to double digits, with Thea Baruela (12pts) leading the scoring for Sedgehill.
