Derby host Charnwood College in the lone EABL fixture, with Nottingham set for back-to-back contests as they travel to Manchester on Wednesday before hosting leaders Sheffield on Thursday.

All EABL eyes on the Midlands

The only EABL action of the week will be found in Derby as the Trailblazers entertain Midlands rivals Charnwood College Riders.

The pair of 1-2 teams will be hoping to strengthen their grip on a top four spot, though both currently lag nine points behind leaders Manchester and six behind second place Myerscough.

The Riders need to pick themselves from their momentum-halting 81-79 loss to rivals Myerscough last time out, and Tristan Curran could be key to that. The talented guard had 31 points in last Wednesday's loss and he'll hope more of the same will carry the Riders over the line this time out.

Derby have plenty of quality of their own, including reigning EABL MVP Casey Burr, who dropped a stunning 47 points in Jnr. NBL play last weekend. Rohan Hobday has already claimed a Team of the Week spot earlier this season, and the Trailblazers also own the EABL's second best offence this season (84.3PPG).

Nottingham set to shape WEABL North

A pair of contests involving Nottingham Academy Wildcats over the next few days will further shape the WEABL North standings, with the Midlanders set to take on their two biggest rivals in back-to-back games.

Wednesday's clash in Lancashire against last season's WEABL finalists Manchester Mystics will be a big one, with both sides looking to strike an early blow in the hunt for top spot. The duo are both unbeaten through the early going, Manchester at 1-0 and Nottingham at 2-0, and neither will want to experience their first L of the season.

24 hours later Nottingham head home for a date with current WEABL North leaders The Sheffield College. Currently top of the pile at 3-0, it means the Wildcats could pass the South Yorkshire programme if they can pick up a pair of wins this week, installing themselves as WEABL North favourites in the process.
