Elite Academy Leagues preview - Week Thirteen (11/02/26)

The EABL North title will be confirmed on Wednesday, though playoff seedings from across all four Conferences, plus the destination of the WEABL North title, will still need a few weeks longer.

The playoffs begin on 4 March, with the semi-finals taking place on 11 March and the finals going ahead on Thursday, 26 March to avoid a clash with BUCS Big Wednesday on 25 March.

EABL North

A straightforward affair, Manchester will be league winners if they beat SGS, or if Myerscough fail to beat Derby.

Should Manchester fall in Bristol, Myerscough can steal in and nab top spot with a win against the Trailblazers.

Charnwood vs BMet rounds out the three North ties for the week, but the Riders are confirmed as the conference's third seed, with Derby in fourth, no matter what happens on Wednesday.

EABL South

Although CoLA are already confirmed as conference winners and will face North #4 seeds Derby to open the playoffs, plenty is still up for grabs elsewhere.

Itchen will secure themselves as #2 seeds if they beat 2-6 HHS Reading Rockets. Doing so would provide a home game to start the playoffs against visiting Charnwood, rather than heading out onto the road against Manchester or Myerscough, providing quite the incentive.

A loss opens the door to Barking, who would move up to second with a win over Oaklands due to owning the head-to-head tiebreaker against the South coast programme.

Oaklands can move up to third if they can defeat BA on Wednesday, with margin of victory being irrelevant. Win, and third goes to the Wolves.

Copleston host CoLA in the South's other game of the week, but with the hosts winless and the visitors already confirmed for top spot, there's little at stake in that one.

WEABL North

At 8-0, one more result in Nottingham's favour will take them out of reach of Manchester and confirm the Wildcats as conference winners.

That may be on Wednesday as Manchester host Sheffield, with the Mystics needing to win to keep the title race alive, or it could be the Wildcats hosting Charnwood on Monday 23 February.

Wednesday's cross-Pennines clash is equally important for Sheffield, with the South Yorkshire programme, Charnwood and MK5D all locked into a three-way battle for two remaining playoff places.

Sheffield's tough road game this week also opens the door for MK5D as they host 0-9 BMet.

A win for MK5D would be big, though Charnwood's rearranged trip to Milton Keynes on the 17 February, Charnwood Nottingham on the 23rd and the Riders home game with Sheffield on the 25 February will all still be key to deciding the final standings.

WEABL South

CoLA are already confirmed as conference winners, Copleston are locked in as runners up, and the pair will now look towards the post-season.

That creates a simple scenario behind, with Oaklands and Barking meeting in East London to decide which team will be third, and which will be fourth.

To move ahead, the Wolves need to win by ten points or more to overturn a 56-47 Barking win when the teams met at Oaklands in early December.

The clash between HHS and Itchen has no playoff impact but there's always pride at stake for both programmes.

Individual honours

The focus this week will undoubtedly be on which teams can secure on improve their post-season chances, but some players also have individual records in their sights after outstanding campaigns.
