England to host 3x3 Commonwealth Games qualification tournament

The men’s and women’s tournament will be held on the 22-23 May 2026 at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester and feature England, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Wales.  

The teams will compete in round robin tournaments, with all sides playing each other once, with the first and second-placed teams then playing each other in a final. 

The winner of each final will secure their spot in the men’s and women’s 3x3 competitions at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.  

Countries already confirmed to compete at the Games in the men’s competition are Scotland, Fiji, Nigeria, Singapore, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Guyana.   

In the women’s it's Scotland, Fiji, Kenya, Uganda, Singapore, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tonga. 

BE 3x3 Development Manager Meehra Gorasia said: 

“We’re thrilled to be hosts of the 3x3 Home Nations Qualifier. 

“This is a huge milestone on the calendar for this year’s Commonwealth Games basketball programme and under the lights at the NBPC, fans will be treated to a taste of what’s to come this summer.  

“The event will be electric and pay homage to the 3x3 culture that exists between the home nations – with high-tempo basketball action, music and vibes – as two teams rise above the rest to stamp their ticket to Glasgow and fight for the medals.  

“If Team England want to be able to defend their men’s title and the women retain their silver or go one better from Birmingham, then this is their first real test.”

Tickets are on sale now and 3x3 basketball fans are encouraged to act quickly with the event likely to be a sell-out.  

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games run from the 23 July to 2 August, with the 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball tournaments taking centre stage at the Scottish Exhibition Campus from the 24 July to 29 July.
