GB Women: Patel confirms support staff for EuroBasket 2027 qualifying window

The appointments bring together a blend of continuity, international experience and emerging domestic talent following his appointment earlier this month.

The staff group sees several familiar faces return, alongside a number of new figures to provide support across coaching, medical and operational areas.

Preparations are ramping up for a crucial qualification window, when GB travel to Switzerland on 11 March before hosting Austria (14 March) and Norway (17 March) at Manchester National Basketball Performance Centre with tickets are on sale now.

Patel, who this week spoke of his pride at taking the role, has emphasised the importance of stability within the group, while also welcoming fresh perspectives to help drive the programme forward as Great Britain look ahead to EuroBasket 2027.

Reflecting on the appointments, Patel said:

“It’s great to be able to confirm the staff for this window. I’m delighted with the return of Pete and Ross; they have great experience having been around the programme for many years and have done a great job, so to keep that continuity is positive for the players and programme. Having Omar and Linda on board also rounds out an exciting staff group in that area.

“I’m excited to welcome new staff to the group, firstly with my assistant coaches Frasse Pinto and Oli Parr. Frasse has great experience having coached across Europe and has a wealth of experience with national teams, including leading Sweden.

“Oli is a very exciting British coach who has gone through the levels and continues to grow. He has national team experience from his time with the juniors and is doing a great job domestically at Manchester, recently helping them to their first Cup final.

“Welcoming Honor as team manager is exciting. She has experience with the junior programmes as well and is now coordinating the Scottish Commonwealth Programme. Dom has been fantastic leading operations behind the scenes to put the bets program in place for the team. It is great to see a former player now impacting the program in a positive way.”

Coach Francisco Pinto added:

“I’m extremely excited and happy to join the Great Britain national team programme, and especially doing this with Krumesh! It’s going to be fun to get to know the players and have the possibility to compete for a spot at EuroBasket.”

Coach Parr said:

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with the senior women’s national team. My experience so far with Great Britain has been amazing and I’m looking forward to representing in Manchester.”
