Great Britain confirm two changes to 12-player roster for EuroBasket Women’s 2027 Qualifier against Austria

GB secured their qualification for the second phase of EuroBasket 2027 qualifying on Wednesday night with a commanding win in Switzerland, but head coach Krumesh Patel and his group remain steadfast in their aim to chase a perfect 3-0 record in this window, continuing their charge in this second fixture against Austria.

The contest at the National Basketball Performance Centre marks Patel’s first home game as head coach and he will be able to call upon EuroCup Women floor general Holly Winterburn and B. Braun Sheffield Hatters guard Chantel Charles, in addition to 10 of the 11 players who featured in Wednesday’s victory against the Swiss.

Patel said: “We're excited to be back in Manchester for a huge game against Austria tomorrow night. After a strong result in Switzerland, we have a lot to build on and we're looking to carry that momentum into this game.

“Whilst our qualification for the next round is already secured, that doesn't change our goals: we want to end this window with three wins from three and that's where our full focus is.

“We know what Austria are about and what we can expect from them. It is going to be a great battle and the players and staff are going to give everything to make sure we come out on top on Saturday night.”
