Great Britain Basketball and University of East London strengthen 3x3 pathway with performance partnership
Great Britain Basketball is pleased to announce a new partnership with the University of East London (UEL), which will see the University's SportsDock high-performance facilities become the training base for Great Britain Basketball's Under-21 and Under-23 national team programmes throughout the summer.
The agreement will provide both programmes with access to one of the UK's leading sporting environments as preparations continue for international competition, while further strengthening the relationship between Great Britain Basketball and one of the country's most established performance sport universities.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the next generation of British basketball talent by providing athletes with a high-performance training environment that complements their development both on and off the court.
UEL has built a strong reputation for supporting elite athletes across a range of sports and is continuing to invest in basketball as part of its wider sporting ambitions. The University's SportsDock campus offers world-class training facilities that have hosted Olympic and Paralympic athletes, as well as professional sports teams from across the UK.
The collaboration also builds on an existing connection between Great Britain Basketball and UEL. Senior Great Britain internationals Paige Robinson and Holly Winterburn, who is currently competing in the WNBA with the Portland Fire, are both UEL alumni, highlighting the University's track record of supporting athletes who have progressed to the highest levels of the game, while London 3x3, the UK's premier 3x3 team, also utilise the facilities at the venue.
Throughout the summer, Great Britain's Under-21 and Under-23 squads will use SportsDock as their preparation base ahead of their respective international programmes, with athletes benefiting from access to elite facilities as they continue their development within the national team pathway.

“Our thanks to Will Ashby and his team at UEL for providing a first class facility which will allow the GB Age Group 3x3 squads the best possible opportunity to get ready for this summer’s tournaments. We want to offer our very best to the teams as they prepare for the competitions.”
With preparations continuing throughout the summer, both organisations look forward to working together to support the next generation of Great Britain internationals. The GB teams will next be at UEL for a camp on 3-5 August.
