FIBA World Cup Qualifier: Great Britain v Iceland in Manchester on Sunday - get tickets!

The National Basketball Performance Centre hosts the decisive clash on Sunday 5 July, with GB aiming to secure their passage to the second round for only the second time in programme history.

GB will head to Manchester for the second clash of the window, following an a tough 105-85 loss in Lithuania on Thursday. Coach Marc Steutel’s side got the better of Iceland in the reverse fixture, running out 90-84 winners in Reykjavik.

Coach Steutel said: “Every time we have a chance to host a home game, we always want our sixth man to come out and support us and that is our incredible fanbase.

“We’ve had a clear core group of supporters throughout my time involved who have always found a way to give us a little bit extra in the moments we need it most. All of our players and staff, who commit so much to this programme and British basketball, genuinely appreciate when our fans come out and support us as they do.

“We’re excited to be playing Iceland. They’re a very difficult team to compete against, and we’ve already had one close game against them away from home, so we know we’re going to have to be at our best to get the result we need in a very important game, and to do that our fans will need to play a massive part, so we’re excited to see them there.”
