Great Britain Name Squad for FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division B
Great Britain U16 Men's Head Coach Liam Jefferson has confirmed the 12-player squad that will represent Great Britain at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026 Division B Championships in Skopje, North Macedonia.
The tournament takes place from 6-15 August, with GB drawn into Group C alongside Denmark, Austria, Hungary and Estonia as they look to make a strong start to their European campaign.
Following a productive preparation period, Jefferson believes his group is ready to embrace the challenge of international competition.
"We've had a really positive preparation period across the UK and the Netherlands," said Jefferson.
"The players have fully bought into what we're trying to build and have embraced the responsibility that comes with representing Great Britain.
"We know what's ahead won't be easy, every game will present a different challenge, but that's exactly the environment we want to be in, and we're excited for the opportunity to compete."
Great Britain will open their campaign against Denmark before taking on Austria, Hungary and Estonia in the remaining group-stage fixtures, with every game crucial in the race to progress through the tournament.
The championships represent another important step in the development of the nation's next generation of talent, with the squad aiming to build on a strong preparation period and gain valuable experience against Europe's leading emerging players.
The U16 Men are the third of Great Britain's four junior national teams to compete this summer. The U18 Men are already in action at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket Division B Championships in Croatia, while the U18 Women begin their campaign in Tulcea, Romania, today (Friday). The Under-16 Women complete the summer programme when they compete in Greece from 6-11 August.
