Great Britain 68-55 Norway: Patel's team seal 100% EuroBasket Qualifying window
Great Britain accomplished their mission of securing a 100% record from their trio of March Women's EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers with victory over Norway at the National Basketball Performance Centre.
But after wins in Switzerland last week and against Austria, also in Manchester, on Saturday, head coach Krumesh Patel's players were made to work hard to seal a third success.
The win over the Norwegians cemented top spot in Group D - qualification to the second phase was already in the bag following the win in Fribourg - and it came via a fourth-quarter surge.
Shanice Beckford-Norton lead the GB scoring with 17, while Cheridene Green had 16 and 11 rebounds, Holly Winterburn 14 and Savannah Wilkinson nine.
If the first three periods were something of a slog - Norway led by one at the half and had been up by as many as nine - the fourth got the job done.
GB had edged into a 45-43 lead by the start of final stanza and used a 23-13 quarter to secure victory.
