Guardian Ballers building the confidence and skills of girls in Coventry
Guardian Ballers hosted its own Her World Her Rules 3x3 basketball event in partnership with Basketball England.
With more than 30 girls attending, the event was a chance for attendees to build their basketball and life skills and create friendships.
The event was led by Grace Bailey-Brown, a final-year sports and exercise student and wellbeing practitioner at Guardian Ballers.

“Too often, girls hesitate to attend mixed basketball tournaments, concerned about making mistakes or not measuring up to the boys,” said Bailey-Brown.
“All-girl events aren't about exclusion; they're about creating an environment where young girls can grow in confidence. We want girls to see that basketball is a space for them too, and that starts with building a community where they feel safe, supported and guided by positive role models."

Additionally, mental performance coach Angelina Marazzi delivered an impactful workshop on resilience, and National Director of the Christian Broadcasting Network Alisa-Latty Alleyne gave an inspiring speech.
Based in Coventry, Guardian Ballers is a not-for-profit mental health and wellbeing service for young people aged 10-25.
It uses basketball, mentoring and community projects to improve mental health, focusing on underrepresented groups, including minority ethnicities and young women.
