Double-headers provide double excitement
Pool A's title race continues to provide twists and turns in equal measure.
This weekend should be no exception as Manchester and Myerscough both take part in double-header weekends with big implications on the standings.
After back-to-back losses, BCU have opened the door to Worcester, Pool A's only four-loss team. The Wolves travel to the North West tomorrow, with Magic also playing 12-5 Sheffield Arrows on Sunday.
Like Manchester, Sheffield and BCU, Myerscough also sit on five losses. A visit from 7-11 Sheffield Sharks II and a trip to 3-14 Oxford are games that 'Sco will expect to come through unscathed, though it's fair to say that their title rivals might not be able to do the same come Sunday evening.
Who can hold their nerve in Pool B?
Solent's game against London Stars on Saturday provides plenty of opportunity for both top-four sides, if they can seize a positive result.
At 11-4, the Stars sit one loss behind Barking and two back from both Solent and Barnet. To progress in the top four, tomorrow's visitors need their rivals to lose, and Saturday's contest on the South coast provides the perfect opportunity for it.
The Stars still have BA to play as well, placing their ability to move up the standings firmly in their own hands.
For Solent, they need to keep winning as they stay on a collision course with Barnet on 28 February.
As 82-66 victors when the teams met in late November, that should help keep the head-to-head tiebreaker between the sides with the Kestrels barring an unexpectedly one-sided contest in North West London later this month. Still, a loss in that game could be terminal for either side, raising the stakes significantly.
The Bulldogs look unlikely to drop points this weekend as they travel to 1-12 London Elite, potentially keeping their title charge on course for another week.
Still, stranger things have happened, and in this season's D1M, you never know what to expect.
