Pool A high-flyers face off

With seven teams in Pool A on four, five or six losses, it was only a matter of time before they collided.

The upcoming weekend contains a number of highly-anticipated contests, starting with 11-6 Liverpool hosting co-leaders Worcester. Fresh from slaying BCU last time out, the Merseyside outfit know they have the quality to give anyone in the Pool a game, and Saturday will be no different.

BCU (13-4) hosting 9-5 Manchester should also be one to watch, as will 9-5 St Helens' trip to 11-5 Sheffield Arrows. The excitement isn't just contained to the top of the standings, either, with 3-13 Oxford locking horns with 3-13 Cardiff in a huge game at the foot of the standings.

If that wasn't enough, Manchester and St Helens go at in on Sunday as well, providing another treat for D1M fans to enjoy.

Who can hold their nerve in Pool B?

Barnet's home game against Solent on 28 February, as things stands, looks set to decide who will secure the Pool B regular season title.

But basketball is rarely that simple.

Both teams still have have five other games to navigate, and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone wanting to put big money on either side remaining unscathed until the end of the regular season.

Barnet's pair of games this weekend, at home to 4-8 Cobham and hosting 5-8 London Lions II on Sunday, can take them back into a share of top spot, with the potential for a three-way tie at the summit also possible by Sunday night.

It would be easily done for Solent or Barnet to focus too hard on their meeting and let a result slip elsewhere, opening the door for three-loss Barking in the process.
