NBL/WNBL Players and Teams of the Week - 29/30 Nov 2025

How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1M and D1W, paying attention to the following criteria:

• Efficiency
• Stats
• Team and opposition strength
• Periods of influence in the game
• Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

In D1M's biggest game of the weekend, Solent's Greg Durand had arguably the biggest performance in the Kestrels' 82-66 victory against Barnet, leading all scorers with 22 points to go with a team-high nine rebounds as Solent also won the battle on the glass 54-42.

Shooting an impressive 9/13 FGs (69%), Durand hit both of his triple attempts to go with four assists, scoring or assisting on 11 of Solent's 22 third-quarter points as the hosts broke open a close game against the previously unbeaten Bulldogs, never looking back from there.

Worcester's Ciani Montgomery continues to go from strength-to-strength in her debut WNBL season, and her latest outing was a huge scoring day against Bromsgrove.

With a D1W-high 34 points, no player could top Montgomery this weekend, and her scoring came at an efficient pace to boot (15/30 FGs, 50%).

Adding eight rebounds, five assists and five steals to her already impressive contribution, the former Lincoln University Lion has showed no signs of letting up so far, putting the rest of D1W on notice that she's the real deal.

D1M Team of the Week

Ashley Ugo - Leicester Warriors (23pts, 4reb, 8ast, 3stl, 33eff)

Durant slots in as pick #1 and is joined by four strong choices that keep a quintet of players with an efficiency of 24 or higher in the honourable mentions list instead.

Liverpool's Louis Rogerson-Evans splashed 7/12 3PT FGs as part of his 24-point haul against Oxford Hoops, adding six boards and four stops to a great afternoon's work.

Three different Knights could have made the cut for Richmond, but it was KJ Smith's 24 points on 76% shooting and seven assists that edged out Callum Vines' 22-point, 12-rebound double-double and Jamal Tahraoui seven triples and 29 points.

Two Leicester Warriors make the grade this week after their 87-79 upset of high-flying Worcester Wolves.

Malik Legania's 27 points were a big part of the Warriors offence, shooting 12/16 FGs (75%) to go with eight rebounds, whilst Ashley Ugo (23pts, 8/9FGs, 88%) added eight assists to his scoring for an equally impressive performance.

Mongomery is an automatic pick as Player of the Week, and is joined by some other sizable stat-line producers across a productive weekend of action.

Loughborough have their first win of the new season and they can thank Caitlin Ryan for her contribution in the 75-64 road win against Bristol.

Alexandra Hernandez only played 20:41 off the Manchester bench in their 67-59 W against ARU, but it was still enough to put together a solid outing and a near double-double.

Chinwe Iwunze's 31 points came close to Montgomery's weekend-high, but her output was still enough to help the Cavs down Brent on Sunday.

Mrashi Karumba-Roberts wasn't even meant to be suiting up for the Cavs this weekend after sustaining a broken finger recently. A late illness struck down standout forward Janice Monakana and Karumba-Roberts answered the call, stuffing the stat sheet with production at both ends of the court.
