NBL/WNBL Players of the Week - (31 Jan/1 Feb 2026)

How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1M and D1W, paying attention to the following criteria:

• Efficiency
• Stats
• Team and opposition strength
• Periods of influence in the game
• Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

D1M's Player of the Week race was very close, with Arrows' Diogo Soares narrowly pipping a monster performance from Myerscough's Zach Trezvant.

To see two such performances in the same weekend was a treat for NBL fans, but Soares just got the nod as he neared a triple-double in Sheffield's 106-83 road win in Oxford.

Shooting 75% for his 20 points, Soares added 15 boards and nine assists to three steals and a pair of blocks, combining it all for a huge 45 efficiency outing.

In D1W, London Cavaliers got revenge for the WNBL National Cup Final by beating Manchester 68-62 to install themselves a title favourites.

Santie Moonie played just 4:51 in Worcester, going scoreless without taking a shot. In this weekend's repeat, the talented forward enjoyed a 17-point, 13-rebound double-double, making all the difference in the six-point win.

Their +/- of +16 was a team-high, further highlighting Moonie's impact in what was the biggest game of the weekend.

D1M Team of the Week

Diogo Soares - Sheffield Arrows (20pts, 15reb, 9ast, 3stl, 2blk, 45eff)

Zach Trezvant - Myerscough Basketball Academy (23pts, 22reb, 4ast, 3stl, 2blk, 46eff)

Hamza Ibrahim - Sheffield Arrows (30pts, 11reb, 3ast, 2blk, 39eff)

Disraeli Lufadeju - St Helens Saints (34pts, 8reb, 5stl, 40eff)

Patrick Wrencher Jr. - Oxford Hoops (26pts, 13reb, 2ast, 30eff vs ARR, 20pts, 13reb, 3ast, 26eff @ LEI)

Soares anchors what is likely the strongest D1M Team of the Week in recent memory, with some outlandish stat lines from across the weekend.

Myerscough's Zach Trezvant can consider himself extremely unfortunate to not be nabbing POTW honours after his 23/22 double-double, and somehow Hamza Ibrahim's 30-point, 11-rebound, 39-efficiency game looks almost 'average' in comparison to Soares and Trezvant.

St Helens' Disraeli Lufadeju was another putting up serious numbers, with a 34-point outing that also resulted in another huge efficiency total.

Oxford's Patrick Wrencher Jr. enjoyed a great weekend, with a strong showing in Saturday's loss to Sheffield Arrows before a game-winning performance on Sunday as the Hoops boosted their survival bid with a 75-72 road win over Leicester.

Like the split between Soares and Trezvant, choosing between Wrencher Jr. and Liverpool's Andre Gayle to round out the five was almost too close to call after the talented wing played a big part in downing title-challengers BCU.

Fannie Serrano - Brent Bulls (18pts, 2reb, 4ast, 3stl, 18eff @BROM)

Carolina Marques - Worcester Wolves (24pts, 2reb, 3ast, 21eff)

Jessica Hunt - London All Stars (14pts, 17reb, 25eff)

Moonie automatically slots into the TOTW and is joined by team-mate Chinwe Iwunze after the duo combined in impressive fashion to down the Mystics.

Fannie Serrano had a big game to help Brent beat Bromsgrove in the opening leg of their double-header weekend, providing the Bulls with the momentum needed to eventually sweep both contests, and Carolina Marques continued her impressive return from injury as the standout in Worcester's 76-63 W against London All Stars.

The five is rounded out by Jessica Hunt, who played a starring role as the All Stars went down swinging against Worcester, putting together a sizable double-double effort in defeat.
