How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both D1M and D1W, paying attention to the following criteria:

• Efficiency
• Stats
• Team and opposition strength
• Periods of influence in the game
• Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

Sunday's numbers may not have been as high as some of Earl Burgess' other outings this season, but few will have had a bigger impact than his 18/12 double-double against St Helens.

Helping the Wolves to a vital road win that secured Pool A's regular season title, Burgess enjoyed a team-high in points, rebounds, and efficiency, helping the visitors to an 81-69 victory that sends Worcester into the post-season as Pool A's #1 seeds.

Likewise, the Cavs knew that a win this weekend would confirm them as D1W winners. That was all the incentive forward Janice Monakana needed as she pushed the now regular-season champs to a commanding 102-58 win against Loughborough.

Dropping game-highs in points, rebounds and efficiency, the Riders had no answer for the Player of the Year candidate, who hit 4/7 3PTs from long range as part of her 26-point total.

Two must-win games, two titles, and two worthy Player of the Week performances.

D1M Team of the Week

Earl Burgess' heroics to secure Worcester Pool A's top spot sees him slide into the TOTW, and he's joined by one of the top scorers of the weekend in Patrick Wrencher Jr, who's 27 points ensured Oxford's regular season would end on a high.

Hamza Ibrahim is a strong shout for Pool A's Player of the Season and he ended a stellar campaign with another free-scoring double-double.

Manchester's 89-72 win over Liverpool on was an important one, as Magic would have dropped out of the playoff spots without it. Dan Davies produced his side's standout stat line on Saturday evening, continuing his late-season hot streak.

Richmond may have been on the receiving end of a pair of losses, Friday night and Sunday, but no blame lays at the feet of Callum Vines for either outcome. Combining for 40 points and 33 rebounds across the two outings, against two of the league's top three no less, Vines was in sparkling form and his production was impossible to ignore.

POTW Monkana and team-mate Chinwe Iwunze were both on song as they helped the Cavs secure D1W's regular-season title with a 102-58 triumph over Loughborough Riders, the same team they'll meet in the opening round of the playoffs.

Louisa Gibbins didn't play in Saturday's loss to the Cavs but her impact was clear for all to see on Sunday, changing her side's fortunes as they beat London All Stars 65-57, with the talented forward dropping a game-high 20 points in road win.

Endeavour Ipswich Basketball needed a win to fend off the top four advances of Worcester Wolves, and they did just that, beating Brent 75-46 thanks to a big day from young guard Angel Whyte.

The five is rounded out by a familiar face in American Ciani Montgomery, with the Worcester guard continuing to cement her name as one of the signings of the season as she closed the regular season with yet another double-double, handing the Wolves a 62-49 W over Manchester in the process.
