After its announcement two weeks ago, the Super South International Coaching Conference has penciled in a number of top tier clinicians.
Troy Culley (Tigers Tübingen ProA and Fraport Skyliners ProB, Germany), Kyla Nelson (London Lions), Alberto Miranda (Assistant coach, German national team) and Luka Bassin (Assistant coach, Slovenian national team) are all set to speak at Surrey Sports Park, making the clinic one of the year's hottest tickets for coaches at all levels.
Speaking about the event, South Regional Talent Manager Dan Petts commented:
"I'm incredibly excited about the line-up of coaches we've brought together for this year's conference.
"Through conversations with coaches across the region, we identified several key areas of interest and development and have worked hard to secure presenters with outstanding expertise in each of those areas.
"A consistent theme throughout the conference is improving decision-making and raising the overall skill level of our players, both of which are critical to long-term player development.
"This conference represents a fantastic opportunity for coaches to learn from some of the leading basketball minds in Europe, and we're excited to see the impact it will have on coach development across the region."

Culley is a former EABL winner with Myerscough, and has a wealth of GB age-group experience.
Below is a list of speakers, the title of their session and a brief background bio.
Troy Culley

Beyond the assist: Using the pass to improve decision making and team offence
Troy Culley joins the conference with extensive experience across youth, professional, and international basketball. His coaching journey has included roles with Torbay Tigers, Kent Crusaders, Myerscough College, Tigers Tübingen, and, most recently, announced as head coach at Fraport Skyliners in the German ProB.
At the professional level, Culley has served as Assistant Coach with the Tigers Tübingen ProA programme for the past two seasons while internationally he led Great Britain U16 Men as head coach in both 2022 and 2023 before joining the Great Britain U20 Men staff in 2024.
In his session, Culley will explore how passing can be used as a developmental tool to improve decision-making, offensive flow, and overall team effectiveness beyond simply creating assists.
Kyla Nelson

You're open! Shoot the ball! - From mechanics to decision making
Former England and Great Britain international Kyla Nelson brings a wealth of experience from both playing and coaching at elite levels.
A former NCAA Division I player, Nelson has coached across academy, National League, and professional environments, including leadership roles with Sussex Storm, Holy Trinity School Academy, London Lions Women, and New City College Academy. She has also worked as an Assistant Coach with the University of Calgary Women's Basketball programme and the London Lions U18 Adidas Next Generation team.
Alongside her coaching work, Nelson is a commentator and analyst for FIBA and the Super League Basketball competition.
Her clinic session will examine the relationship between shooting technique, confidence, and decision-making, helping coaches better understand how to develop effective shooters who can consistently make better decisions under pressure.
Alberto Miranda

From philosophy to habits: building a defensive culture that lasts
We are excited to welcome Alberto Miranda, one of Spain's most respected international coaches.
Miranda currently serves as Assistant Coach with the German Men's National Team and has previously worked with Spain's U17 National Team programme. At club level, he has coached in Spain's top division, the ACB, with both UCAM Murcia and, currently, Unicaja Málaga.
Having worked within some of Europe's most successful basketball programmes, Miranda brings a wealth of experience in player development, team performance, and high-level coaching. His work across national team and elite club environments has helped shape players and teams competing at the highest levels of European basketball.
His clinic session will focus on improving defensive activity, methodology, and decision-making, providing coaches with practical approaches to developing more effective players and building stronger team defensive concepts.
Luka Bassin

One-on-one play and decision making with the ball
We are delighted to welcome Luka Bassin, Assistant Coach of the Slovenian National Team and one of the most experienced player development coaches in European basketball.
Bassin's coaching career spans more than two decades and includes roles with Union Olimpija, Ilirija Ljubljana, Cedevita Olimpija, Viimsi Estonia, LTH Castings, and Perspektiva Ilirija. Throughout this journey, he has worked as a head coach, assistant coach, and player development specialist at both youth and senior levels.
Internationally, Bassin has represented Slovenia across multiple national team programmes, including Slovenia U20, Slovenia B, and the senior national team, where he has served as Assistant Coach since 2022.
His session will focus on developing 1-on-1 play and decision-making with the ball, providing coaches with practical concepts and teaching points through small-sided games that can be applied across all levels of the game.
