W/EABL Players of the Week (4 Mar 2026)

You can have your say on this week’s selections and give a shout-out to the players you think deserve one on the Academy League channels.

How it works

Each week, a standout player plus four other worthy selections will be put forward to make the Player and Team Of The Week in both the EABL and WEABL, paying attention to the following criteria:

• Efficiency
• Stats
• Team and opposition strength
• Periods of influence in the game
• Being on a winning team (exceptional performances from players on losing teams will be considered for TOTW)

Players of the Week

Two forwards were in great form on Wednesday afternoon to help a pair of #2 seeds advance in their quest for post-season glory.

Myerscough had the tie of the round in the EABL playoffs, entertaining Barking Abbey in a rematch of last season's Final.

'Sco grabbed revenge for their last meeting, ending Barking's title defence with a 75-64 win where Zach Trezvant was in impressive form.

The towering forward collected his 16 points from 77% shooting (7/9 FGs) and his 14 rebounds were a game-high. Five blocks showed Trezvant's impact at the other end of the court, whilst his five assists were also a great contribution as Myerscough advance to the next round.

"After losing to Barking last year, we really wanted to put things right," admitted Trezvant.

"I’m proud of the performance, the effort, focus and attitude we put towards the game, and it shows how far the group has come since the start of the season."

Myerscough head coach Lewis Scott added: "I'm really proud of the boys this week. It was a great team performance, especially on the defensive end.

"Zach was a big catalyst for that with his shot-changing ability and the focus he came in with. He fully deserves the Player of the Week award."

Copleston's Holly Ensoll was another in no mood to entertain her side's playoff run ending at the first hurdle, putting together a commanding performance to help her side beat The Sheffield College 107-52.

The North #3 seeds were outmatched from the opening tip, with Ensoll's combination of size and skill allowing her to put together an 18/22 double-double in less than 25 minutes of action.

Nine defensive stops (four steals, five blocks) made life hard for the visitors at the other end, with three assists providing the cherry on top of an already great performance.

"It was a great team performance against Sheffield," said Ensoll. "It’s a privilege to win this award, but it was a whole team effort."

Copleston head coach Nick Drane added: "Holly anchored a pretty efficient team performance with her defensive presence and rebounding.

"This enabled us to play well and move on to the semi-final and an undefeated opponent in Nottingham."

A pair of Myerscough standouts make the grade this week, with POTW Trezvant appearing alongside Olivier Esingle following to his 19-point, seven-rebound, seven-assist, six-steal effort against defending champs Barking.

Demi Babalola was on song at both ends of the court, as has often been the case this season, to help Manchester ease past Oaklands, with Andrew Nwokolo starring off the bench for CoLA against Derby as he produced an efficient double-double in 17:52 of court time.

Ethan Round was the man to help Itchen progress against a spirited Charnwood side, scoring a team-high 13 points to go with 11 rebounds, seven assists and a game-high +/- of 20.

POTW Ensoll slots into the TOTW and is joined by Copleston team mate Angel Whyte after her well-rounded performance to end Sheffield's playoff run.

Three different Wildcats could have made the cut this week but it's Hanya Correia that pips them all, grabbing a double-double alongside solid four assists and three steals in just 20:51 of action against Oaklands.

Kamilah Yakabu was Barking's standout in their upset win over Manchester, leading all scorers with 18 points to go with five boards and a pair of assists.

CoLA's talented forward Adaora Dioramma rounds out this week's side, putting up 15 points on a stunning 85% shooting (6/7 FGs), adding five steals and a trio of steals despite playing for just 16:03 against MK5D.
