Three into two won't go

Only the top four spots in D1W are guaranteed a home playoff game in the opening round. The teams finishing fifth through eighth will be on the road, making the top four spaces valuable for those involved.

London Cavaliers can finally secure the regular-season title if they beat Bristol, who are winless in their last seven, and CoLA fall against Ipswich. If both teams win, that race will roll on to next weekend.

Whichever way things go, CoLA and the Cavs are guaranteed a top-four spot, meaning Ipswich, Anglia Ruskin and Manchester are all fighting for third and fourth.

Ipswich's trip to London will be a tough one, as it would be for any side. ARU and Manchester both face opponents lower down the standings but with strong motivations of their own.

Ruskin head to Loughborough on Sunday with the Riders trying to keep themselves in the playoff picture, currently occupying eighth.

The Mystics have lost five in a row in the continued absence of Kizzy Spence, and they head to London as the All Stars try to keep some distance between themselves and the potential relegation spots.

Mid-pack continues to provide excitement

The race outside the top four continues to entertain, and that should be no different over the next few weeks.

Brent and Worcester have both knocked off some strong opponents in recent weeks, sitting sixth and seventh in the table respectively.

The duo meet in London on Sunday in what should be an exciting contest.

Loughborough are one of the teams to see of Manchester during their recent dip in form. The Riders have turned a corner in the late-season and have a double-header this weekend to continue their ascent, hosting Bromsgrove on Saturday before a visit from ARU on Sunday.

The way the Riders have been playing so far this month, you wouldn't bet against them causing some more chaos before the weekend's out.
