WNBL D1 Recap (24/25 Jan 2026) - results, stats, streams and more

Victories for Brent and Worcester helped both teams in the D1W's congested playoff battle, but Bristol and London All Stars won't have appreciated their missed opportunities as they continue to flirt with the teams near the foot of the standings.

Standout performances

Marlee Ball got the upper hand against her former team as she helped Worcester to a 70-54 victory against Bristol.

After an even opening quarter, Worcester struck the first blow with an 18-10 second frame but Bristol wouldn't be deterred, fighting back to even things up before losing their way late and going down to a 22-14 final frame.

Brent took a low-scoring tie against London All Stars, winning 50-41 after holding the hosts to just seven second-half points.

Three in the third and four in the fourth doomed the All Stars, who had been leading by as many as 14 points at the half, as Brent took the opportunity to nab their fifth win of the campaign.

What does it mean for the standings? 

With the top five all out of action, Brent's win allowed them to push up the standings and into playoff contention with the Wolves.

The continued poor form of Bristol and London All Stars is sure to be a concern but both stay clear of the bottom two as Loughborough and Bromsgrove were without a game.

Player-of-the-week candidates 

With just two games to pick from there's no Team of the Week, but some players still put in POTW performances.

Fannie Serrano's 13 points made a big different to Brent alongside Kenisha Whyte's 11 points and nine boards, and both efforts were required to counter Kat Goldsby (8pts, 11reb, 5ast, 2stl) and Josephine Maignomo (8pts, 7reb, 3stl).

Ball (9pts, 7reb, 5stl) played well in her return to Bristol, but it was Ciani Montgomery (23pts, 9reb, 6stl) and Carolina Marques (15pts, 7ast, 4stl) that did the damage for the Wolves.

Veronica Iweanya enjoyed a 13/15 double-double for Bristol, with Durga Dharmadhikari (14pts) also making it to double digits on the scoreboard.
