CoLA and Ayla Habbal got back to winning ways this weekend (Shot By A)
Standout performances
The battle between Harriet Welham and Anglia Ruskin's Ilaria Zaffaroni was a stunner, with Welham's side eventually taking the game 78-72 after a 25-17 fourth quarter.
14 points from Ayla Habbal and 13 more from Debra Wilson-Osuide helped CoLA ease past London Cavaliers 60-54, helping coach Gibbons' side get back into the win column.
That just left Bristol to win a low-scoring contest with London All Stars, grinding out a 46-43 victory thanks to 14 points apiece from Sammy Roscoe (feature image) and Marlee Ball. The Flyers had trailed by as many as 14 points early in the final frame but came roaring back to steal an exciting victory.
What does it mean for the standings?
Despite still being early days, few would have pegged Anglia Ruskin to be sat at 0-2 by this stage. Ipswich and Worcester remain unbeaten at 1-0, as are Manchester, though the Mystics and Wolves were without a game this past weekend.
Player-of-the-week candidates
The clash in Suffolk provided a pair of standout performances from Harriet Welham and Ilaria Zaffaroni.
Welham (38pts, 11reb, 4ast, 4stl, 39eff) scored nearly 50% of her side's total, whilst Zaffaroni (30pts, 8reb, 2ast, 2stl) also played some stunning basketball.
Ayla Habbal (14pts, 9reb, 5ast, 17eff) was the standout for CoLA, closely followed by Adaora Dioramma's double-double (12pts, 10reb, 3stl, 21eff).
And Sammy Roscoe (14pts, 12reb, 4blk, 21eff) was the pick of the bunch for Bristol, outlasting London's Kat Goldsby (15pts, 10stl, 4reb, 3ast, 16eff).
Watch out for the winner on our social channels, with the announcement going live at 7pm on Monday evening.
