A key commitment of the Basketball England Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) is to publicly publish progress on a quarterly basis. 

Here is the second report of the progress made so far from October to December.

Delivery of the DIAP

The DIAP has 100 tasks to complete over the next four years. Twenty five tasks will be completed each year across all five Core Ambitions

2. The Future Youth Committee 2026 programme was confirmed. The renewed programme will begin in January 2026.

3. Formal partnerships are being developed with Mencap and Special Olympics GB. Initially collaboration will focus on

3.1 The delivery of Mencap “Learning Disability in Sport” workshops as a pilot

3.2 Supporting the Special Olympics GB National Games in August 2026

Focus for the next quarter

  1. Completion of the recruitment audit
  2. Review of the pilot delivery of Mencap Learning Disability in Sport workshops
  3. Review and development of data across all aspects of EDI
