The Commonwealth Games is the biggest sporting event in the UK in 2026

Glasgow 2026, the biggest sporting event in the UK next year, has revealed the official Session Schedule for the Commonwealth Games; setting the stage for 10 unforgettable days of world-class sport.

The Games will run from the 23 July to the 2 August, with 3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball featuring from the 24 July to the 29 July.

There has been an increase of the number of teams competing in the running and wheelchair basketball competitions from Birmingham 2022, with a quota of 12 men's and women's teams, meaning that there are three additional sessions across the six days of basketball competition.

3x3 Basketball and 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball will take centre stage at the Scottish Exhibition Campus on the first Friday and weekend of the Games (24, 25 and 26 July), promising for a show-stopping start.

The medal ceremony session will take place in the evening of the 29 July, 16:30-21:30.

Pools and Team England's schedule

Team England are set to play their group games on Saturday 25 July and Monday 27 July, with the Women facing Singapore in their opening fixture and the Men, Jamaica.

The whole competition runs from the 24 July to the 29 July at the Scottish Event Campus, and features 12 teams, divided into two pools of six.

Each team will play against every other team in their pool, ie five games each. The group stage lasts from the 24-27 July.

Whoever finishes top of their pool will advance directly to the semi-finals, whilst those in second and third will compete in a play-in game on the 28 July for a spot in the semis.

The semis on the morning of the 29 July will feature the group winners playing against the winners of the play-ins, but on separate sides of the draws, eg Group A winner will play the Group B play-in winner.

The medal games will then follow in the afternoon.
