 Myerscough College 80-83 Derbyshire Arrows

The last game of the weekend and one of the highlight fixtures, Derbyshire Arrows claimed a 83-80 victory over Myerscough to end their 100% record.

The victory meant that both the Myerscough and Arrows have six-points in the table in second and third place respectively, but it’s Team Newcastle University who lead the way following their victory.

George Brownell scored 28 points, the leading scorer in the fixture, whilst Joseph Baugh and Callum McKenzie added 39 more between them.

Myerscough had a slight lead heading into the fourth and final quarter, but 21 points for the visitors saw Derbyshire Arrow claim victory by just three points.

Elsewhere in NBL Division Two

Team Newcastle University remain the only unbeaten team in the Northern Conference following their 98-85 victory over Charnwood College Riders and claim top spot in the table. David Labossiere scored 27 points, the most in the fixture as his side claimed the win despite a late fightback in the final quarter from Charnwood.

Manchester Magic bounced back from their close lose to Myerscough the week previous to claim an impressive 67-53 victory over Team Birmingham Elite. Magic were led by Richard Bell's 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists, with support from Andre Gayle 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and six steals and other stand-out performances from Josh Grand and Ty Jordan. The victory sees Magic go 2-2 in the table and move to fourth spot in the table.

Derbyshire Spartans defeated Bristol Academy Flyers 98-85, with Jordan Santiago, Ronald Oberia and Ashley Ugo scoring 75 between them.

In the South Conference, Team Solent Kestrels II made it a triple-win weekend following their 91-83 victory over London Westside. The victory saw Team Solent Kestrels go unbeaten in the NBL Division Two, NBL Division One and WNBL Division One. Ashley Williams the highest scorer for Team Solent, with 25 points and Theo King adding 20 more.

In a battle of England vs Wales, the latter came out on top with a tight 80-79 victory for Cardiff Met Archers over London Greenhouse Pioneers. Gareth Williams scored on the buzzer to claim his side’s first victory in the NBL Division Two, whilst Jordan Seeley was the top point scorer with 16.

BC Medelynas London travelled to Sir Robert Woodard Academy and claimed a close 64-61 victory over Sussex Bears, whilst East London All Stars also claimed a confident 118-79 victory over Ipswich Basketball.
